Ethical practice
At a graduate level to apply this attribute is to articulate an appropriate personal value system in terms of social behaviour and civic responsibility (CQU, 2010).
As an Australian public servant I am well versed in the Code of Ethics. My professional knowledge includes the Queensland College of Teachers Professional Standards that guide the profession of teaching.
I have learnt and experienced the dilemmas that a learning manager confronts on a minute to minute basis. Ethical dilemmas will confront me on a day to day basis as I reflect on how well I am educating learners to be active 21st century citizens. My professional skills enable me to cope with these dilemmas, through professional support as part of a team and to work through a dilemma ethically while maintaining my personal values and the values of this profession.
The course lecturer Cecily Knight, in Professional Knowledge in Context, commented on my assignment "You demonstrate a commitment to children and education that will make you an asset to the profession" ( Knight, personal communication, 2011)
