Critical thinking
Critical thinking is defined at a graduate level as the ability to reflect evaluate and think creatively within the context of a specific discipline (CQU, 2010)
During my learning experiences at CQUniversity, the critical thinking attribute has been applied in the order of higher level thinking with the ability to explain basic principles of university learning and analysing one's own performance with the ability to reflect, evaluate and think creatively (CQU, 2010).
Critical thinking has been an integral part of my degree, embedded into assessment, practical experiences and within course classes as evidenced by comments from my lecturer Justine Lawson:
You are one of the most thoughtful and critical thinkers I have encountered. You offer thoughtful insight in all class discussions, and are able to quickly grasp and discuss complex theoretical ideas. Your capacity for reflection is seen in multiple ways, including the ways in which you self-assess work and your teaching. From a lecturer's point of view, you are an asset in classes because of your critical and reflective capacities. (Lawson, personal communication, 2011)
